Using Your Forklift Hopper
How you use your Roura forklift hopper depends on which model, base, release system, and accessories you purchase. Our self-dumping hoppers come in the following models:
- Durable – 2,000 – 4,000 lbs. load capacity; 1/8 – 5 cu. yd. volume capacity
- Rugged – 4,000 – 8,000 lbs. load capacity; 1/8 – 5 cu. yd. volume capacity
- Ultimate – 8,000 – 10,000 lbs. load capacity; 1/3 – 5 cu. yd. volume capacity
- Behemoth – 8,000 – 10,000 lbs. load capacity; 6 – 10 cu. yd. volume capacity
Customized Forklift Hoppers
Roura Material Handling specializes in custom self-dumping hoppers and can modify any of our existing hoppers to meet your specific needs. Or we can custom engineer a hopper to handle your specific special application, such as one of the following:

Two Types of Releases
When it comes time to release your load, you can do so by means of Roura’s Mechanical Handle Release or Roura’s Pull-Down Handle System. If you choose the mechanical handle release, you can effectively transport and dump materials while remaining seated on the forklift at all times. For dumping from higher elevations, our pull-down handle system lets you control the whole process while standing on the ground and pulling down on the superior built cable system.
Hopper Bases
Roura forklift hopper bases likewise give you two basic options: open channel and boxed tube design. Our open channel bases come standard on all our Durable model hoppers, as well as on our Rugged and Ultimate Strength hopper models that handle up to 2-1/2 cu. yd. We construct these bases of 1/4″ thick track on all of our one-ton and two-ton model hoppers and 5/16″ track for all our hoppers over two tons, i.e., those having capacities of from three tons to five tons.
Roura’s unique boxed tube design bases come standard on all of our 3 cu. yd. and larger Rugged and Ultimate Strength hoppers, and are optionally available on all our other two-ton and three-ton hopper models. We construct these bases from 1/4″ plate steel on all our 1/2 cu. yd. and smaller hoppers and 5/16″ tube for our 1 cu. yd. and larger hoppers.
At Roura Material Handling, our customers and their needs come first. Therefore, we can modify our standard bases to include such things as the following:
