Rotator boxes are designed to work with forklifts that have rotating attachments and are ideal for use in near-zero or zero dumping applications and smaller material loads. They perform a similar function to self-dumping hoppers, but with lighter load capacities and full 180° rotation.

How these rotator boxes work varies by design configuration. Roura carries three primary design types: Standard, Gaylord (designed for transporting and dumping materials within a Gaylord box), and Drum (designed for transporting and dumping materials within a 55-gallon barrel).

Standard Models

  1. Each rotator box has fork tubes/pockets. Spread the forklift forks to the correct distance and insert them into the pockets.
  2. Raise the rotator box to eye level, then tilt the forks.
  3. Raise the rotator box just above the container that you’re dumping materials into.
  4. Rotate the forks until the rotator box is empty. If jams occur, do not attempt to fix them while the rotator box is elevated.
  5. Rotate the box back into its upright position.
  6. Lower the rotator box to just above ground level before tilting the forks back.
  7. Lower the box to the ground.

Gaylord Models

  1. Use the forklift to fit the Gaylord box into the opening of the rotator box.
  2. Disengage the forklift, lower the forks to the ground, turn off the forklift, and set the parking brake.
  3. Manually adjust the retaining rails on the rotator box to prevent the Gaylord box from falling out during dumping.
  4. After securing the box, turn the forklift back on, rotate the forks 90°, and insert them into the fork pockets on the back of the box.
  5. Raise the box to a safe dumping position near the container, set the parking brake, and slowly rotate the forks until the contents have been fully dumped into the container.
  6. Return the box to its upright position and lower the rotator box.

Drum Rotator

  1. Raise the retaining rails within the rotator box to the highest level.
  2. Verify the retaining chain is not blocking the opening.
  3. Match the forklift forks to the drum grabber attachment.
  4. Place the drum into the rotator box.
  5. Disengage the forklift and remove the drum grabber from the truck.
  6. Adjust the retaining rails to secure the drum and attach the retaining chain.
  7. Insert the forklift forks into the pockets on the bottom of the drum rotator box.
  8. Transport the rotator box to the container where the materials will be dumped.
  9. Remove the forklift forks from the bottom pockets, rotate the forks 90°, and insert them into the pockets on the back of the rotator box.
  10. Lift the rotator box just above the container and slowly rotate the drum rotator until the contents are fully emptied.
  11. Rotate the box back into the upright position and lower it to the ground, away from the container.
