While all our steel self dumping hoppers and hopper products offer durable interior and exterior material strength, our galvanized steel dump hopper line is designed specifically for corrosion resistance.
The mild steel used to construct this hopper is hot-dipped galvanized for corrosion protection. We take this reliable steel and use our time-tested hopper design, including pointed and pierced trunnion tracks that use taper pins. Whether you use them with casters or forklift pockets for your forklift operators to maneuver around your facility, galvanized hoppers offer the resistance you need and the convenient operation you deserve.
Stainless Steel Hoppers
Similar to a galvanized hopper, a stainless steel hopper offers unique materials with a familiar design. These steel dump hoppers use a hot-dipped galvanized base of mild steel. Next, an austenitic stainless steel structure is used for commercial applications. Stainless steel provides corrosion resistance with a different makeup than galvanized steel, which may be more suitable to particular chemical or food and beverage applications.
These hoppers offer a gleaming product that is easy to spot and easy to use. You can vary the load capacity and volume capacity to fit your facility. Smaller hoppers are easier to maneuver around a small facility, while our largest load capacity hoppers give you the maximum volume your forklifts can safely handle. Whether on the construction site or working around your chemical processing facility, a stainless steel dumping hopper fills a unique need in your business operations.
Hopper Applications
One of the greatest advantages of our hoppers is their diverse application capabilities. A few of the common industries stainless or galvanized steel dump hoppers are used in include:
Fishery
Food and beverage
Sewage
Harvesting
Exterior handling
Wastewater
Chemical processing
In all situations, it’s important to review the material you’re handling and the hopper you’re using to take on the project. This is important to two reasons. First, it ensures you aren’t exposing a hopper to a material that could cause corrosion or other damage. Second, it prevents overloading your hopper or your forklift with particularly heavy materials. Our hoppers have a high weight load limit, but you should never attempt to lift, dump or store a heavier weight than is recommended for your particular hopper.
How To Use a Steel Dumping Hopper With a Forklift
Always review the service manual and operational instructions for your forklift. Never attempt to lift a hopper that’s heavier than your forklift limit or operate a forklift that hasn’t been properly serviced. Failure to maintain a forklift could put the operator and the self-dumping hopper at risk.
Follow the loading, lifting and dumping instructions for your specific hopper. We offer operational videos that help you better understand your product before attempting to secure or dump any materials.
Carefully position for forklift forks in line with the pockets. Insert the forks before moving or lifting the hopper. Depending on the included accessories, you may need to secure an auto-latch handle or perform other steps before your hopper is safe to lift. Maneuver the hopper at a safe distance from the ground before positioning it near your intended dump site.
Lift the hopper above the dumpster, container or other area where you intend to unload its contents. Once you’re sure the area is clear, use the self-dumping feature of your hopper to dump it completely. Return the hopper to an upright position before attempting to maneuver the forklift or return the hopper to the ground. Review our operational videos for more detailed instructions.
